About our Program
Health information professionals work with clinical, financial and administrative staff in health care to interpret data for use in patient care, statistical reporting, planning, and medical research. HIA professionals are experts in coding and classification systems, managing patient health information, and administrating computer information systems. Program graduates are employed as directors, managers, consultants, data quality managers, privacy officers, and many other positions in the field. Potential employers include hospitals, physicians offices and clinics, long-term facilities, insurance companies, government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, software development companies, and home care providers.
